    Use of optiphi® during pregnancy

The optiphi® Skin Rejuvenation Treatment: Currently, there is insufficient literature available to support the safe use of, or reception of, a chemical peel during pregnancy. It is therefore recommended to consult your medical practitioner before undergoing any treatment or to refrain from treatments altogether during pregnancy. Treatments may safely resume after delivery. The optiphi® Retail Range products are safe for use during pregnancy, with the exception of those containing Retinol. Clinical data suggests that the topical application of retinol does not increase serum levels of retinoids in humans and thus presents minimal risk for developmental toxicity. However, as a precautionary measure, it is advised to consult your medical practitioner before using these products or to discontinue their use until after pregnancy. All products containing Retinol are clearly labelled to indicate this precaution.

Can optiphi® be used if I’m on a prescriptive drug – Roaccutane?

The optiphi® Skin Rejuvenation Treatment is not recommended while using oral isotretinoin (e.g., Roaccutane®, Oratane®) and for several months (6 to 12) after completing treatment. Isotretinoins can make the skin more sensitive and delicate, both during use and for a significant period afterwards.

The optiphi® Retail Range products can be used effectively and safely while undergoing isotretinoin treatment, with the exception of products containing Retinol.

How quickly after starting the use of the optiphi®- range of actives, will I start to see a difference?

The results will vary from client to client based on their skin condition, level of skin damage, and the amount of attention and therapy required to restore the skin to a healthy condition. However, most clients begin to notice a change in their skin after two to three weeks. More significant results can be achieved when the optiphi® Skin Rejuvenation Treatment is combined with the use of optiphi® homecare products.

Can the optiphi® Retail Range of Actives be used on very sensitive/sensitised skins?

The optiphi® Retail Range of Actives can be used on sensitive or sensitised skin due to their pH-balanced formulations, which are free from artificial colourants and fragrances and are designed to restore the skin to its natural healthy state. However, as with any skincare product, certain individuals may have or develop sensitivity to one or more ingredients. In such cases, it is recommended to consult your doctor and adjust your skincare routine accordingly.

Can the optiphi® Skin Rejuvenation Treatment be performed as a “Lunch-Time” Peel?

The optiphi® Skin Rejuvenation Peel is a glycolic acid-based chemical peel, often referred to as a “lunch time” peel because clients can return to work the same day and apply make-up if necessary. As these peels are light and gentle, clients can resume normal activities immediately after the procedure.

Is Sun Protection important after an optiphi® Skin Rejuvenation Treatment or with the use of the Retail Range?

Due to the severe damaging effects of overexposure to the sun, optiphi® recommends incorporating an effective broad-spectrum sunscreen into any healthy skincare routine.

When undergoing an optiphi® Skin Rejuvenation Treatment or using an optiphi® product containing retinol, the skin may become more sensitive to the sun. It is therefore essential to use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 15 during product use, after treatment, and for a week following discontinuation.

Please note that the optiphi® Skin Treatment regimen should always follow the recommendations and advice of a medical practitioner, physician, or skincare therapist.
